Isostacy and density
Density is the amount of matter in a certian amount of space. To find the density of an object you need to divide mass by volume. To find volume you can drop the object you want to find the volume of in water and the amount of water id displace is its volume. In Finding the mass you need to multiply the volume by density.

Isostacy is the concept of bouyancy. Bouyancy is the the amount to which somthing can float which has a lot to do with density. The denser the liqid is than the item floating the more it floats, the less dense the water is than the iteam the less it floats.
