Plate tectonics

Plate tectonics is a theory of why the earths crust moves.the outermost part of the earhs interior is made up of two layers: The lithosphere, and the asthenosphere, the asthenosphere has reletivily low viscosity and it has the conistency of silly putty. The lithosphere is broken up into techtonic plates there are seven major and many minor plates. The lithosphere plates ride on the asthenosphere.Plates move and push each other around.

Plates can move against other plates causing them to move in different directions. If two plates move against each other it will create a subduction zone.A subduction zone is where one plate sinks below another and causes it to melt into the sea of magma that the worlds plates are floating on.
