Strike slip fault: A type of fault where rocks on either side move past each
other sideways with a little up or down motion at the same time.
Ring of fire: A major string of volcanoes that rims the Pacific Ocean.
Earthquake: The shaking that happens from the movement of rocks
beneath the Earth's surface.
Epicenter: The point on Earth's surface directly above an earthquake's
focus.
Density:The amount of mass in a given space; mass per unit volume.
Continental Drift:When the continents slowly move across the earths
surface.
Basalt: A dark, Dense igneous rock with a fine texture, found in the oceanic
crust.
Granite: Usually a light colored rock that is found in continental crust.
Peridotite: A Dense coarse-grained plutonic rock containing a large amount
of olivine believed to be the main constituent of the earth's mantle.
