135 million years ago- There once was a plate called Laurasia, it broke apart and is now known as Europe and Asia.

 

200 million years ago- Alfred wegener suggested there once exsisted one large supercontenint which was called Pangaea.

1950-Scientist discoverd how to measure paleomagnetic directions and latitude of geomagnetic pole.

 

in 50 million years-California will be split, Greenland will be further west and north, Australia will be further north into the tropics. The Atlantic Ocean will be much much larger and the Pacific Ocean will be much much smaller, North and South America will move farther west. The western part of Africa will rotate clockwise and crash with Europe. The far eastern region of Africa will rotate east toward the Arabian Peninsula, Australia will move north while New Zeland will move to the south of Australia.
