Positions
There are 4 basic positions, Forward, midfeild, defence and goalie.
Foreward- The forewards on a field are usually past the half line and farthest away from the goal your team is protecting. These are also usually the ones who shoot and make gaols. There are normally 2 or 3 people playing forward, left, center, and right. The person playing right stays on that general side, same with the left. The center can change, they can be in the direct center or they can be near to the left or right `side, they play whereever they are needed. At the beggining of the game and after each goal the forwards start at the center of the field. These are the players that need to watch for offsides.
Midfield-The midfield plays in the middle of the field. They go up with the forwards to score and back the forwards up and they can also move back toward defense to help out there. These players do most of the running so that they can take the ball up the field and move it to the defense. They have a right, left, and center as well but can have as many midfielders as they want.
Defense- There are 4 or 5 defenders, that stay on their side of the feild. Their job is to keep the opposite team from getting to the goal. The most common formation you will come across is a dimond. This will consist of two wing defenders, the forward middle man is the stopper and the back center man is the sweeper. the sweeper is the first man to the ball, the the wing and lastly the sweeper.
Goalie- The goalie is the keeper, the one who gaurds the goal. They are the only person on the feild who can use their hands, but only in the penalty box. Once they get the ball the can drop kick it or throw it to their teammates. The sole reason for their presence is to keep the ball out of the goal.
