Johnny Rotten: (lead
singer) Johnny Rotten
was born to the name John Lydon on ______. He was a "very shy, quiet little
church mouse kind of charector," as a school kid, he said himself. He
loved Shakespear and reading ans says it's his favourite thing to do. As
a teeen he had green hair and a "I Hate Pink Floyd" tee-shirt to "annoy as many
people as I could". He was the one to write all the lyrics for the Sex Pistols
songs and "never shared with the band."
Paul Cook: (drummer) Paul
was born on ______. He had a stable background, a pretty good education
and a solid foundation of work. He was also "more straightdown the
line...(than Steve Jones)". In the beginning of making the band,
Paul'd have the drums set up inside "im my mum's bedroom, (he'd) come home
every night from work, get up and start crashing away on the drums, annoying
the neighbors." About the break up and fact tthe Sex Pistols
only had one actual album, he said, "the Sex Pistols has been one of the
most important bands in music-as far as I'm concerned. And that was
just meant to be, that one album.""

Sid Vicious: (bassist)Sid
was born on May 10, 1957 to the name John Simon Ritchie in London England. He
was called "Sid Vicious" because, as Johnny Rotten says "Sid
Vicious got the name after my pet hamster. I had this little white
hamster that bit him one day when he was trying to be sweet to it-and his
name was Sid
and he really liked that. It was vicious, that. 'Your Sid is
vicious'".
Sid was the dummer for Siouxie and the Banshee's first live show, then recieved the call to replace Glen Matlock on bass in February. He later began to date Nancy Spungen, which was basically the begining of the end for Sid. He started using heroin, which the band assumes Nancy started him on. In Nil Stevenson's words Sid came to "dislike everything--except heroin and Nancy". The band also complained he stopped caring about playing.
The couple moved into the Chealsea Hotel and thier relationship got alot worse... "There was a violent episode 4 days before she died," Deborah Spungen (Nancys mom) said. "She said he'd been hitting her. I spent the next days worrying. And then she didn't call. And never called again."
On Dec 12, Nancy was found dead, stabbed in the low stomache, crumpled with a black bra and panties in the bathroom. Sid was charged with her murder and released on $50,000 bail. 10 days later he attempted suicide. After Nancy dies, Sids mom flew to Manhatten to be with him. Although he'd gone through some rehab
Steve Jones: (guitarist) Steve
was born September 3rd, 1955, in Queen Charlotte's hospital. He
lived/grew up in Hammersmith but moved a couple times with his mum and
step father because his real father (Don Jarvis) walked out on the family
when Steve was 2.
Steve was a pretty troubled teen-he basically hated school, left home at 15, living with friends, got arrested and stole all the band's equipment, cars, wallets from dressing rooms et cetera because "that's all I knew how to do. I use to watch my parents steal at Tesco when I was 6. And, you know, I would just follow that. That's what I learnt, you know."
Then we went onto playing with the Sex Pistols. Then they toured in America. When they were in San Francisco, he quit. "I was just not happy. I was just getting more and more where I wanted to get out of the band. Untill we got to San Francisco, and thats when I said "I dont want to do this anymore."
Glen Matlock: (former
bassist) Glen was born in ________, in
London. He noved to Kents Graham at around 15 or 16 and went to local schools. "Me
dad was a factory worker and me mum worked in a powder-puff factory." Glen
went to St. Martin's Art College. When he was awith the Sex Pistols he
wanted tp be "more like the Bay City Rollers." He
also wasn't to fond of Anarchy in the UK. He left the band because
he didn't like the direction it was going and hated God Save the Queen with
a passion. He later went onto painting.
