Junior Solar Sprint 2005 is complete

Race day (June 10, 2005) came and went with a flurry of activity as some 80 students with 40+ cars attempted to race on a questionable day for sun power. One or two of the cars were able to move under solar power, in particular the winner that not only went on solar power but also had the fastest time of the day! Most of the cars raced on battery power and were placed based on time to cover the 65 feet of track. Students in grade 8 science with Mr. Thomsen designed and built their vehicles during an 8 day period in late May and the first part of June.

So now it is time for next years 8th graders to put on their thinking caps and get ready to design and build their own totally solar powered car. See you in 2006!
