hotspots When lava melts threw the earths crust and blows out like a blowtorch it is called a hot spot. They are often in the middle of either continental or oceanic plate where the plate is most weak. The pacific plate drifted over a hot spot to make the Hawaiian Islands. In Yellowstone national park there is a major hot spot but the last eruption was about 75,000 years ago. Hot spots make some of the volcanoes from the Earths mantle. Hawaii is sitting on a powerful hot spot on the pacific plate, but the plate's movement will carry it away from it.
3 diffrent kinds of volcanoes 3 different types of volcanoes
1.the shield volcano is mostly flat repeated lava flows during quiet eruptions gradually build up a broad, gently sloping volcanic mountain known as a shield volcano.
2.cilider cone volcano
When cylinders erupt explosively from a volcano vent, they pile up around the vent, forming a cone-shaped hill called a cylinder cone.
3.Composite volcano
Layers of lava alternate with layers of ash, cinders, and bombs in a composite volcano, witch has both quiet and explosive eruptions.
