Wegener did more than provide a theory to answer the riddle to continential drift. Unfortunately, he could not provide a satisfactory explnation for the force that pushes or pulls the continents. Wegener couldn't find the cause for continential drift cause most geologists rejected his idea. Wegener said that if the apple theory was correct than mountains would be all over the world ,but narrow bands is where the mountains usally are. Wegener thought that his own theory better explained wher mountains occur and how they form. For nearly half a century , from the 1920 to the 1960's most scientists paid little attention to the idea of the continential drift.
