Fecal coliform harmless bacteria is a group of bacteria that goes through the body and comes out as waste. It can come from either animals or humans. The most common group of Fecal Coliform is Escherrichia coli, This group is able to grow with elevated tempatures. Most bacteria grows dark, warm and moist place. Fecal coliform is harmless, but can contain disease-causing bacteria. This enters water with the Fecal Coliform Bacteria. If there are more than 200 colonies of F.C. Bacteria present, other disease causing organisms will also be present. Drinking water must have 0 colonies to be considered safe.
