What is Carbon Dioxide (CO2)?

 

CO2 is a gas that plants breathe, humans and other animals exhale CO2. All life is based on Co2. Co2 is the major chemical contents of most organic matter, from fossil fuel to complex molecules. Co2 is not one of the most abundant elements in the earth's crust.

How Does CO2 get in water?

 

CO2 gets in the water because there are fish in the water that breathe oxygen and exhale CO2. Also other animals like crawdads and oysters breathe oxygen too.

 

Fun Facts

In solid form CO2 is Dry Ice. If breathe to much Dry Ice is it can paralyze you.

Soda is carbonated by compressing carbon dioxide in the liquid and capping. If you shake it, the carbon dioxide it try's to expand.

Carbon Dioxide is one chemical found in magma.
