Oxygen is an indicator of the health of water ecosytems. The
rangecan be from 0-18
ppm (parts per million) of D.O.,
some natural water systems require
5-6 ppm. Algae growth increases as Dissolved Oxygen levels decrease when waste
water enters a body of waters.If you look down, there is a scale of ppm for
example, the striped
bass could
not live in no less then 5 ppm. Dissolved Oxygen, beacuse they could die if they
get to much parts per million(ppm) in the water.
