Flow Rate
When we do flow rate we check the speed of the water at Chimacum Creek. We check in three spaces on the left side of the bridge, The middle under the bridge, and the right which is closer to the middle school. then we check our data we collected in the flow rate probe. As we go through this process we have to have enough data to get the info we need and hope to find. To do this we need to connect he palm pilot to the flow rate tester and go to the creek for a while to get our data. Our data was 2 feet per second. Which is about normal for a creek this size. (even though our creek is somewhat small but not very small.)
Flow rate is where you take a flow rate tester and go to a creek or a river that has a good flow to test. Now you have to collect the data in a palm pilot. Then you need to put your data into writing form so if you need it for later you have it. The writing form is known as a Lab Write up. A lab Write up is when you record your data in a scientific way.
We tested at this creek because this is the only creek that was around to test at. We also wanted to find how fast the flow of the water was flowing.

This is the Flow rate sensor.
