Problem
What is the flow rate at Chimacum Creek under the bridge by Cenex?
Hypothosis
I think that the flow of the water would be fast but than again somewhat slow.
Experiment-
Materials
The Flow Rate sensor
Palm Pilot
and the creek
Procedure
First you have to assemblethe flow rate sensor and then hook it up to the palm pilot.The sensor is about 2 or 3 feet tall and for deep water there is extentions. Next you have to go to the creek to test the flow and measure the flow under the bridge and to the left and right of the bridge. We tested in different places to see if the flow of the water increases or decreases in different spots.Then you check and save your data on the palm pilot.
Conclusion
Analize Data........1)Our data shows about 2 feet of water per second passed by the flow rate sensor which backs up our hypothosis becuase 3 feet per second is more than average.
2).Less than 1 foot per second is about avereage but Chimacum Creek has got 2 feet per second which indicates that the flow at the creek is increased and proves my hypothosis.
3).Flow rate data,water going as fast speed are both examples of what went right . We would have changed the areas we tested because yes we did test outside the bridge and thats the main spot we tested.We would to have been able to test up the creek a little father.
4). It took us a little while but it was our first time testing with the flow rate sensor.Even though it was the first time testing.
