The benthic macroinvertebrates

are very small bugs but you can see them without a microscope.there are lots of different

types of bugs like Stonefly, Waterpenny, Mayfly, Dobsonfly, Alderfly, Snipefly,Mussels,Rifflebeetle,Damselfly,Dragonfly and lots of other bugs. Most of these bugs

can only live in clean water, but a little bit can live in poluted water.If you find bugs that are intalerent to water polution in your creek it probably means it is healthy.
